Application Process: Adult Volunteer
Thank you for choosing Swedish for your volunteer experience! To apply, please complete the steps outlined below:
1. Complete the enclosed Adult Application Packet including the required background check forms. All volunteers must complete and clear a background check facilitated by our Human Resource department prior to volunteering. Save the application to your computer and e-mail it to us. 2. Once your application and background check has been approved, we will be happy to extend an invitation to attend a mandatory New Volunteer Orientation. The orientation consists of an introduction to our facility, an overview of the Volunteer Program, as well as information pertaining to understanding and adhering to Swedish Medical Center’s Core Values and Standards in delivering memorable care and exemplary service to our patients and visitors. All new volunteers are required to have a TB test will be administered by our Employee Health Department as well as provide documentation of flu vaccination during the winter flu season. Flu shots in addition to TB shots are free of charge for new volunteers.
ALL volunteers are required to make a minimum six-month commitment for 4 hours per week. Only 3 absences are permissible during the initial six-month period. We strongly encourage you to assess your schedule to determine if you are able to fulfill this requirement prior to applying.
