Junior Volunteer Applications
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Swedish Medical Center. Our volunteers are an integral part of our Swedish healthcare team providing exemplary service and memorable care to our patients and their families.
Our junior volunteers are afforded a unique opportunity to explore the healthcare profession while delivering memorable care and making a difference in the lives of our patients.
Follow the steps below to get you on your way to becoming a Swedish volunteer.
1. Complete the Junior Application Packet comprised of the letter of recommendation, junior contract and background check form. Note: Students under the age of 18 must also provide a copy of their Social Security Card for verification. Save the forms to your computer and e-mail them to us. Or, print and send via mail to:

2. Once your background check has been approved, we will be happy to extend an invitation to attend a mandatory New Volunteer Orientation. The orientation consists of an introduction to our facility, an overview of the Volunteer Program, as well as information pertaining to understanding and adhering to Swedish Medical Center’s Core Values and Standards in delivering memorable care and exemplary service to our patients and visitors. All new volunteers are required to have a TB test will be administered by our Employee Health Department as well as provide documentation of flu vaccination during the winter flu season. Flu shots in addition to TB shots are free of charge for new volunteers.
ALL volunteers are required to make a minimum six-month commitment for 4 hours per week. Only 3 absences are permissible during the initial six-month period. We strongly encourage you to assess your schedule to determine if you are able to fulfill this requirement prior to applying.
