Treatment for Gynecologic Cancers
In some cases, surgery will be necessary. Drs. Kevin Davis and Mary Jo Schmitz, perform their surgeries in specially designed and equipped gynecologic surgery rooms of the 5th floor of the hospital. Patients admitted after surgery will spend time recovering in private rooms on the 5th floor in a unit dedicated to postoperative care and recovery for GYN surgery patients.
Swedish uses the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System to perform minimally invasive surgeries on gynecologic cancer patients. The system provides our patients a minimally invasive option that allows them to spend less time in the hospital, experience less pain, and recover faster. With the addition of the robot to our capabilities, Swedish now has the only robotic gynecologic oncology surgery program in the Rocky Mountain region.
In other cases, chemotherapy or radiation therapy will be used to treat gynecologic cancer. Whatever your course of treatment involves, our specialists are here to care for you.
