Cesarean Birth
Birth by Cesarean (private class)
This is a one-time private class designed for those who know they will be delivering their baby(ies) by Cesarean delivery. Class content consists of pre-operative preparation, anesthesia and pain relief options, procedures during a Cesarean delivery, and postpartum recovery period.
Breathing and relaxation techniques designed to reduce stress and improve overall pain control during and after your Cesarean are practiced. Discussions are encouraged around suggestions to make the delivery easier through household preparations, developing a support system with friends and family, and realistic expectations for caring for baby after surgery.

Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC)
This one-time class is designed to discuss the risks and benefits of a vaginal birth after Cesarean section (VBAC) and elective Cesarean birth. This non-biased class will discuss current statistics and literature of both VBAC and elective Cesarean to help you make an informed decision (with the help of your physician) about how you would like to approach your next delivery. Also covered are the medical and emotional issues related to experiencing a vaginal birth following a Cesarean delivery and specific techniques to enhance a positive birth experience. Previous Cesarean birth experiences are explored, and events are clarified to help alleviate anxiety.
We strongly recommend this class be taken in conjunction with the Childbirth Express and Natural Comfort Techniques classes to reinforce successful strategies and relaxation techniques for the best chances at a VBAC delivery.
