Swedish provides nurse-midwifery services for women of all ages. If you think a midwife best suits your health needs and goals, our Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM) are available to help you care for yourself through support, education and clinical excellence.
Certified nurse midwives must graduate from an accredited education program and pass a rigorous certification exam. CNMs are experts, trained in both nursing and midwifery, that are held to rigorous standards of practice set by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM). They attend continuing education programs offered by hospitals, universities and the ACNM.
Midwives at Swedish use a unique blend of traditional medicine and complementary or alternative therapies. The exact blend you receive is completely up to you.
If you are pregnant or hope to become pregnant, our midwives will care for you before, during and after your pregnancy, consulting with an obstetrician when necessary. Plus, when you deliver at Swedish Medical Center, be assured that you and your baby(s) have access to the most advanced medical technology, if needed.
Whether helping during childbirth or through the transition into menopause or perimenopause, our midwives are here for you every step of the way...supporting you while you move through life's stages.
If you would like to meet our midwives, we encourage you to schedule an appointment for a consultation with our providers in order to help you decide who you would like to work with.
Most insurance plans cover services provided by midwives and our midwives accept most insurance plans. To verify your coverage, please contact your insurance carrier.
