Swedish's Level I Trauma Center provides much-needed care, especially in the south Denver metro area, as Swedish is the only Level I Trauma Center readily accessible to Douglas County and other growing south Denver metro-area communities.

AirLife, HealthONE's Emergency Medical Transport Service, also serves as a valuable asset to Swedish's trauma program. The Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI), the largest, most comprehensive neuroscience center in the Rocky Mountain region, is also located on the campus of Swedish Medical Center.

The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma developed the ATLS program for both physicians who do not treat victims of major trauma regularly and physicians who regularly treat trauma patients. The program emphasizes the first hour of initial assessment and primary management.

Who: Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and non-physician trauma professionals who want to audit.

Provider Course: 19 hours of Category 1 credit
