ACPE Accredited 2012-2013 Clinical Pastoral Education Residency
HEALTHONE SWEDISH MEDICAL CENTER, Englewood, CO, offers four, one-year Level I/II residency positions running August 20, 2012—August 24, 2013.
Residency Requirements & Description
Applicants are ordinarily required to have completed one previous Level I CPE unit at the time they apply. A graduate level theological degree (M.Div. or equivalency) is preferred. Fluency in speaking, understanding, writing and reading English is required. Availability for an in-person interview is necessary and a current visa valid for working in a CPE residency year in the USA through August 2013.
Residents complete four units of CPE, with a significant progressive curriculum focus from Level I towards Level II ACPE Learning Outcomes. Apply if you are seeking clinical experience on the front line of integrated chaplaincy in a 368-bed Level I Trauma Center with eight recognized centers of excellence: Cancer Care, Cardiac Care, Emergency Services, Orthopedics, Spine Care, Stroke Care, Trauma Services and Women's & Children's, Neurosciences with extensive Stroke Treatment and the Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI)—with a CPE program and hospital staff invested in your pastoral formation & practice.

Chaplaincy Contexts
Chaplaincy contexts include Emergency/Trauma Services, Multi-Trauma, Critical Care, Cardiac Care, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Women’s & Children’s Services, Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery, Pediatrics/PICU, Oncology (Cancer Services), Surgery Services, the Colorado Neurological Institute Brain Tumor Program, and involvement with Clinical Ethics, Palliative Comfort Care, Organ/Tissue Donation, Swedish Memorable Care and other hospital committees.
The stipend is $31,000 for the residency year, free tuition, with access to full-time employee benefits which include cost efficient health/dental benefits, approximately 20 days of paid time off (vacation).
